Kennebunk Savings Bank Gives $1,000 to Local Group
PORTSMOUTH, NH – Leadership Seacoast, a non-profit organization that develops informed and active community leaders, welcomed Kennebunk Savings Bank to its leadership sponsor program following the bank’s generous $1,000 donation. This money will help to offset the costs of Leadership Seacoast’s 2013 program year which begins this month.
Since opening in 1871, Kennebunk Savings has gained a reputation for unparalleled integrity, stability, and guidance through its exceptional customer service and community initiatives. In keeping with the company’s Community Promise program, Kennebunk Savings Bank donates 10% of its annual earnings to local organizations like Leadership Seacoast which educate residents on issues of cultural and civic import. “We are honored to welcome back Kennebunk Savings as a Leadership Sponsor in 2013,” said Jennifer Wheeler, Executive Director of Leadership Seacoast. “Because of the bank’s pledge to invest in our region, we can continue our mission of discovering the issues, creating connections, and inspiring action.”
For more than 20 years, Leadership Seacoast has been instrumental in bringing awareness to some of the key issues affecting the region by developing a base of knowledgeable and active citizens through participation in its educative and experiential program. Over the course of six months, participants hear from experts in a variety of fields from politics to the environment and come to understand the causal relationships connecting these diverse topics.
Thanks to the financial support of local businesses such as Kennebunk Savings Bank, Leadership Seacoast is able to provide a meaningful experience for every student and to create additional volunteer opportunities for alumni throughout the community.
