NextEra Energy Hosts Group of Leaders

Seabrook, New Hampshire, March 2016- – Leadership Seacoast, an organization committed to developing informed and active community leaders, recently hosted a panel discussion on protecting and preserving the environment along the Seacoast during Environment Day held at NextEra Energy in Seabrook. The daylong seminar, which included a tour of the nuclear facility, was sponsored by Unitil Corporation and Peterson Engineering.

The class was allowed the unusual opportunity to tour the control room training center of the nuclear energy facility and then heard from some of the region’s top environmentalists, such as Cameron Wake, Research Professor, Climatology and Glaciology, University of New Hampshire; Cory Riley, Reserve Manager, NH Fish and Game, Marine Fisheries Department; Dan Clapp, ReVision Energy; Brian Hart, Executive Director, Southeast Land Trust of NH; and Steven Couture, Program Manager, NH Department of Environmental Services Coastal Program.

“The opportunity to have these remarkable speakers share their knowledge and studies with the class on the balances between conservation and convenience was eye-opening,” said Leadership Seacoast Executive Director Jennifer Wheeler.
