Program Overview
Leadership Seacoast is one of 3,000 community leadership programs nationwide and follows the national design, which offers existing and future community leaders the opportunity to meet and learn from those who are actively involved with issues that will shape the future of the Seacoast. Through its core program of interactive day-long presentations and discussion, participants learn about and analyze key issues affecting the cultural, social, political and economic lives of Seacoast residents. Class participation, shared knowledge, expertise and personal perspectives are important components of the well-rounded curriculum. Attendance is expected at each program day, including the opening retreat and graduation.
In additional to class time, experiential assignments that directly relate to the program focus of the class day are assigned and intended to be completed in advance of the program day. Traditionally, each participant is assigned to a team with which they work throughout the program on special out-of-class exercises. As time is limited, experiential exercises are designed to enhance the educational component of each program day and prepare participants for a rewarding experience.
