Leadership Seacoast Spends Day with NH Officials

2016-Government-DayPORTSMOUTH, NEW HAMPSHIRE, April 2016 − Leadership Seacoast, an organization committed to developing informed and active community leaders, is pleased to announce LTC Partners as its Government Day Program sponsor. During the learning experiential, Leadership Seacoast class members spent the day at the Legislative Office Building in Concord, New Hampshire learning about the legislative process, importance of individual advocacy, and funding priorities in New Hampshire.

Governor Maggie Hassan, honorable Executive Councilor Christopher Sununu, and others met with Leadership Seacoast members to discuss the current issues New Hampshire government is facing during the day-long program. Steve Norton of New Hampshire Center for Public Policy Studies provided the class with the challenges involved with creating budgets in New Hampshire.

“Government Day allows community members to receive and participate in an in-depth lesson on New Hampshire Government processes,” said Leadership Seacoast Executive Director Jennifer Wheeler. “At the end of this program we want our members to walk away with more knowledge and drive to become active in their own communities.” Leadership Seacoast program days are meant to provide unique experiences by bringing diverse individuals together to collectively and more effectively impact the communities of the Seacoast region.
