What are the 3 most pressing issues facing the Seacoast today?

We posed this question to those applying to participate in the Class of 2013. The answers provided a sense of “the pulse” of the Seacoast, informed our programming, and helped us develop content areas.

So, here what’s on the mind of Seacoast leaders today:

  • Housing
  • Public Transportation and infrastructure
  • Climate Change
  • Education finance
  • Mental health
  • Substance Abuse
  • Suicide Prevention
  • Parking
  • Workforce Development & Job Growth

  • Affordable Housing
  • Water Quality
  • Renewable Energy
  • Environmental Preservation
  • Affordable Health Care
  • Poverty
  • Recycling
  • Recreation Resources
  • Diversity
  • New Business Development

That’s a long and overwhelming list.  The good news is that we are well-connected, through our alumni and other Leadership Seacoast advocates, to experts who can provide insight into these important issues.

That said, I guarantee that – if we do our jobs right – in the end, we will all have more questions than answers. I know I do every year.  But I promise the journey of exploring these topics will be eye-opening and ‘pot stirring’.

What do YOU think are the most pressing issues impacting the Seacoast?
